GET STARTED IN SECONDS
Set up your Garmin in just a few steps
Follow the steps below to get tracking
Step 1) Download the app
On your phone, open the Garmin Connect app, go to the Connect IQ Store, and search for “The Surfr. App.” Once you find it, download and install it to your watch.
Step 2) Pair Garmin <-> Surfr
Open the Surfr. App on your phone.
(If you haven’t downloaded it yet, get it here first.)
Then:
Go to the Session page.
Tap the Settings icon (top right corner).
Select “Connect Garmin Account” and follow the steps.
Once connected, your Garmin activities (including jump and sensor data) will automatically sync with Surfr You’ll get an email and push notification when your session is ready to view in the app.
Step 3) Follow the on-boarding
The first time you open the app there will be a one-time onboarding procedure. After the onboarding, in the Settings on your watch, you can:
Switch between metric and imperial units (meters/feet, km/h/mph).
Calibrate your watch sensors. Although not mandatory this is highly recommended. Do this at home in a stable location.
Step 4) Let's GO!
Now you are ready to rock and boost to new heights. You will notice that every time before you hit the water we will ask you to do a quick wrist movement. This will help us with some last minute calibration to ensure optimal accuracy.

When you first open the Surfr. App on your Garmin, you’ll be guided through a quick onboarding process to determine your watch’s compatibility. Your watch will fall into one of two categories:
Fully Compatible or GPS-Only.
